Contributions

CATR has a policy to never turn away any student because of inability to pay. We offer scholarships based on financial need. The cost of each lesson is $120 but CATR charges no more than $35 per lesson. CATR is supported through donations from local businesses, foundations, corporations, fundraisers, and generous individuals.

CATR also has an endowment fund with the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina located in Charleston. Donations ensure CATR’s long term financial stability.

• Provide 1,000 hours of individually tailored therapeutic riding programs for students with a wide range of disabilities.
• Give scholarships to many needy students from inner city and rural areas.
• Assist in maintaining partnerships with 6-8 special needs classes in area public schools.
• Provide learning opportunities for over 75 volunteers of all ages.
• Increase communication and distribution of therapeutic resources and techniques with doctors, therapists, hospitals, and Universities across South Carolina.
• Aid in mentoring new and developing therapeutic riding programs in South Carolina.
• Allow CATR to operate to the highest national standards of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.

CATR does not receive funding from state or federal agencies, nor are we affiliated with United Way.
